Sin, Guilt, and depression

Guilt is a destroyer of happiness, productivity, and the soul, guilt imagined and real, pulls us down and will destroy relationships in life and your spirituality. Too often a person with a guilty conscience may lash out in bitterness toward others.

Sin is the root of the problem because sin leads to guilt and depression which further complicates matters and leads the person into a greater sense of guilt and a heavier burden of depression.

Kind Solomon described this progression of sin and guilt this way: "His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, and he is caught in the cords of his own sin" Proverbs 5:22

I hear people say, "we live in a sick society." That is a misnomer by sighting wickedness (sin) as sickness. If a well-known person is murdered, people say "We live in a sick society."

If teenagers murder a classmate, we hear "Our society is to ...

Other Child Syndrome

This was written by my wife Becky and I as a combined effort to bring our professions together

The other child syndrome is a very real problem for families with two or more children. Other Child Syndrome, (OCS), is something I (Becky) created because of traumatic events in my past that led to extreme life-changing family dynamics.  OCS can be a serious struggle with families of a special needs family member.  It is when that child takes up all the attention and the other child, or children, are pushed aside, often without parental knowledge.

The power of praying sisters

I have seen the results of a prayer of sisters; she is a woman who has a regular prayer life. I have watched God’s hand move in situations when sisters join to intercede for another person it is incredible to watch.

From my own experience of seeing sisters pray that when a problem comes, they did not look at it, did not look at the person. I have watched them shake the very walls of hell, so hard demons have lost power and they were so confused they were literally lost about what to do.  You need only to pray, you need only to go to the throne room and pray.

But a prayer life does not just happen, it comes from having a submissive life to the Father. Anytime you hear something about another person pray, don’t gossip “Did you hear about.....?” just pray, immediately!!

If we criticize someone or use critical words, the more you talk that wa ...

A blank slate

Tabula Rasa

In Genesis, God taught Adam and Eve what he wanted them to know. What was good, what was bad, what was safe, what was harmful. He did so because Adam and Eve were created by Him and had no foundation to learn from; they were malleable.

God taught them everything they needed to know to live in the world around them. With all the tools He provided for them soon they would meet Satan the deceiver, He told Eve to eat of the very tree God told them not to, in fact, Eve told Satan so, but she added to God’s word’s and said, “We shall not touch or eat from this tree or we shall surely die”, Satan began his work. “Did God say? You would surely die?”, and what about Adam who was close by. He knew the truth as well, but he did as Eve said and he too ate. Soon the truth was known. Shame! ...
